The program focuses on the economic and management aspects of peace while emphasizing the ideals of sustainability and accountability. It was founded on the conviction that in order to better contribute to the promotion of long-term peace, it is necessary to investigate the role of the economy in the world today, as well as its influence on our environment and the well-being of society. Rural and urban poverty, expanding inequalities and inequities, environmental degradation, financial crises, and globalization are all threatening political, economic, and social stability in all countries. Finding solutions that will preserve and defend social structures for future generations is an increasing concern in modern society.
